When we have offense against someone, it can keep us from the fullness of God's love. Jesus first loved us. God wants us to love others. The Scriptures teach us that. Jesus's love needs to be our foundation. Jesus's love is an unlimited supply. The more we give the more we can receive. Jesus has fully forgiven us.
Jesus does not want us to be full of unforgiveness. It is bitter and choking to our heart. When we forgive, it frees us. Jesus is our healer. When our hearts soften, Jesus will meet our needs.
Jesus does not withhold his affection. We should do the same.
