J Bruce Ismay felt the message that was in his pocket. It was lunchtime. Captain Smith had just handed the message to him. The message was that the White Star liner the Baltic was about 250 miles ahead of the Titanic's course. The liner in the message reported icebergs and a large quantity of field ice. Later that afternoon, Ismay shared the message to Mrs Marian Thayer and Mrs Emily Ryerson.
Later in the evening, Ismay found Captain Smith.
" Captain, please display this message in the officers chart room".
By 11:00 pm, Ismay was asleep. He was not concerned about the message. It was a calm night. The Titanic was the largest moving object on earth. What was there to be concerned about?.
At 11:40 pm, J Bruce Ismay found out how wrong he was.
