This book is an ancient Jewish songbook about prayer and praise to God. This book is emotionally charged poems. 150 of these poems became this book. Psalm 23 is the shepherd's psalm. Psalm 100 is a psalm of praise. Psalm 119 is a celebration of scripture. Psalm 69 calls for God's judgment on enemies. Most of these poems return to the theme of praise to God. The last poem psalm 150 returns to the theme of praise.
