Cora and Emily stood inside the doorway of the dayroom. Cora walked over to the little girl. The little girl looked like her sister. She had soft curls and emerald green eyes. Emily walked up to the girl. She was wearing red shoes with silver buckles.
" Hello Dorothy".
The little girl looked at her. " Hello".
" I am Emily your mother's sister".
" Hello".
" You can call me Auntie Em or Aunt Em".
Dorothy smiled. " Em is a pretty name".
" You are going to come and live with me and Uncle Henry on a farm in Kansas".
" A farm?". Dorothy showed Emily her toy lion. " Are their lions on this farm?".
" No". Emily grinned. " But we do have horses, pigs, a cow and some little chicks".
Dorothy held out her toy lion. " Can Lion come too?".
" Of course".
