the Story: you want me to do what? by ric gustafson
The Lord said to Joshua. I want you to march around the city for six days.
" You want me to do what?".
" On the seventh day, I want you to march around the city seven times with the priests blowing trumpets".
This task seemed out of Joshua's comfort zone.
" When the whole army gives a loud shout, the wall of the city will collapse".
Joshua did not say " You want me to do what?".
Instead of questioning God, Joshua did what God wanted him to do. Joshua called the priests and began to arrange the procession that would circle Jericho once a day for six days. And then seven times on the seventh day.
Like Joshua, when God gives us a command we need to do it,
God loves us more than anything else.
