Mary walked into Joseph's shop. He had a worried look on his face. " What's wrong Joseph?".

" A decree just went out from Caesar". His voice hesitated. " They are going to take a new census".

" A census?".

" Each adult male citizen must be registered and counted at the place of their birth".

Mary stared at Joseph. " You mean Bethlehem?".

" Yes".

" I want to go with you".

" Mary, you can't". Joseph had a scared look on his face. " It's winter and you might lose the child".

" I must go with my husband".

" I don't know Mary".

" I will go with you to Bethlehem".
