The Reluctant Beatle page 24 by ric gustafson
In November 1966, John visited the Indica Art Gallery in London's West End. There he met an artist named Yoko Ono. After returning from India, George tried to get back into being a Beatle. First, the band released as a double A side ' Strawberry Fields Forever' and ' Penny Lane'. At the same time, Paul had come up with an idea for the band's next album. His idea was for the band to become a fictitious band.
It took four months and a lot of money to make the new album. Recording the album was different than the band was used to. George and Ringo had less to do on it than normal. George did not like making the album very much.
Paul was now into LSD. John, Paul, George and Ringo grew Sergeant Major moustaches. George started growing a small beard. The only new song from George on the new album was called ' Only A Northern Song'. George also decided to do some Indian inspired music for the new album. It was called ' Within You Without You'.
