I found the Titanic

In 1898, an American writer named Morgan Robertson wrote a book. It was called ' The Wreck of the Titan'. The Titan was a passenger ship. It was labeled unsinkable. It was to sail from England to New York. There were rich and famous passengers on board. The Titan hits an iceberg and sinks. There were not enough lifeboats. Many lives were lost. It was a prophecy of terrible things to come.

In 1907, two men began talking about building huge ships. The two men were J Bruce Ismay and Lord Pirrie. Pirrie was Chairman of Harland and Wolff Shipbuilders. Ismay was President of the White Star Line. 

Their plan was to build 3 enormous ocean liners. Both men wanted the White Star Line to have a competitive edge in the Atlantic passenger trade. In 1911, the first of the huge liners completed it's maiden voyage. The liner was called the ' Olympic'.

Carlo and Rory stood by the far wall of the room.

A guillotine was sitting in the middle of the room.

A guard led a line of females into the room. The line stopped near the guillotine.

Rory sighed. " Why are we here Sir?".

" Rory, I wanted to show you what your bank's money is being used for".

A guard led the first woman toward the blade. She began to quietly sing.

Carlo heard the woman singing. " Guard, what is she singing?".

" Kneel" yelled the guard.

As her head was being positioned under the blade, her singing became louder.

The guard looked at Carlo. " Sir, all of them look upward or hum or sing before the blade comes down".

The blade dropped. Clapping was heard around the room.

Rory frowned. " Can we go Sir?".

" Of course".

Psalms: Psalm 46:1

In Acts 12, King Herod killed the Apostle James. Then he arrested Peter. Herod was going to kill Peter after his trial the next day. Peter was chained between two guards. There were also guard posts set up at the prison gate. 

Things looked bleak for Peter. But God had other plans. In the middle of the night, an angel came. He shook Peter and led him outside the prison. Psalm 46 says God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.

God comes into our dark places. He comes when we are hurting, lonely and when life isn't fair. Why?. Because God loves us more than anything else.

My name is Robert D Ballard

I found the Titanic.

In 1967, I was a member of the Boston Sea Rovers. I loved underwater exploration. I loved listening to explorer Jacques Cousteau and shark expert Dr Eugenie Clark. I have always been fascinated by the sea. I grew up in Southern California. As a teenager, I took up scuba diving. At the University of Hawaii, I took marine geology. To pay for it, I worked as a porpoise trainer.

In 1967, my life changed dramatically. I was called up to the US Navy. I was assigned to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. I enjoyed studying weather patterns and mountain ranges of the deep.

Starting in 1973, one subject occupied my time. Bill Tantum told me story after story of the human drama surrounding one specific sea disaster.

I had to find it. It was the Titanic.

God wants us to empty out worry and anxiety. God wants us to empty out guilt, regret and self pity. Proverbs 14 says a relaxed attitude lengthens a man's life.

God wants us to have a strong, vibrant, faithful and joyful heart. Why?. Because God loves us more than anything else.

David did not call Goliath a giant. He called him an uncircumcised Philistine. David refused to put Goliath on a throne. David always kept God on a throne. Psalm 45 says your throne O God endures forever and forever. 

Are you facing a giant of a problem?. It could consume us with worry. But God is always in control. God already knows the solution to your problem. God will take care of our problem when we have an attitude of faith. There's only room for one person on the throne. I pray it's God.

Carlo and Rory were sitting in an office. There was a knock on the door.

" Come in".

Two pilots walked in. Nervously, they sat down.

One spoke up. " You wanted to see us Sir".

" Yes, you did not accomplish your goal".

" Sir, we dropped on Petra what you ordered us to drop".

Carlo stood up and began to walk around the pilots. " The fact is nobody died". Carlo's voice got angrier. " I heard that the people were praising God and dancing in the streets".

One pilot spoke up. " We could not help that water came up from an abyss".

" I see".

The two pilots looked at each other in fear. " What's going to happen to us?".

Carlo stared at Rory.  " I want both of them to be eliminated".

" For something we had no control over".

" Then I want their bodies cremated".

" Cremated?".

" Then I want you Rory to find me a pilot who will not fail us".

Rory nodded. " Ok".

Carlo and Rory sat by the feed.

Carlo smiled. " I'm looking forward to some great news Mr Chang".

All of a sudden, Mr Chang threw his headphones on the ground. " Commander, that is impossible".

Carlo looked at Rory. " What is wrong Mr Chang?".

" Sir, the pilot detonated two bombs and a missile over Petra".

Rory smiled. " So that should of taken care of that so called Remnant".

Chang frowned. " The pilot just told me that even with smoke and flames the people are still alive".

Carlo stood up. " That's impossible". He stared at Rory. " But how?".

" The pilot said water came from a gigantic abyss".

Rory scratched his chin. " Impossible".

" The pilot said the people are now dancing in the streets of Petra".

" I will defeat them". Carlo shook a finger at God. " I will defeat you". 

Rory embraced Carlo. " I know Sir".

King David has witnessed God's blessings and favor. We are all tempted to be discouraged and down on ourselves. Psalm 42 says put your hope in God. 

God knows we will get into a dry place. The good news is that we can walk out. We were not created to be dry and discouraged. We were created to enjoy and endure life. We need to declare our hope in God.

Why does God care so much for us?. Because he loves us more than anything else.

Mitch walked into Royce McKnight's office. Sitting next to Royce was Oliver Lambert, Victor Milligan and Avery Tolar. 41 year old Tolar was a younger partner. Milligan was head of Tax.

McKnight frowned. " Thank you Mitch for coming to the two funerals".

" I felt I should go".

" We have great plans for you Mitch". McKnight grinned. " We just lost two of our best lawyers".

" I'm sorry".

" Mitch, we need your help with tax work".

Mitch smiled. " Ok".

Avery Tolar grinned. " Mitch, I will be your supervisor and mentor".

" Great".

" Let's have lunch today". Avery smiled. " My treat".

" Sure".

Commander Ernst Kals of the Second U-boat Flotilla knew U-505 needed a new Skipper. Kapitanleutnant Harold Lange was appointed. Lange was tall and had a deep baritone voice. At 40, he was the oldest U-boat Commander. Grand Admiral Doenetz picked Lange to unite the crew of the U-505 as a father figure rather than a disciplinarian. Because of his age, the crew of the U-505 had already given him a nickname. It was ' The Old Man'.

On Christmas Eve 1943, the U-505 quietly tried to leave it's U-boat pen. As it entered the Bay of Biscay, the boat encountered a raging battle. German destroyers were engaging against British warships. The German destroyer Z-27 was sunk by the British light cruiser Glasgow. U-505 was ordered to try to find survivors. U-505 ended up rescuing 34 sailors. 

U-505 returned the sailors to Brest instead of Lorient.

Rory was sitting in the front row of the One World rally. He smiled as Carlo walked up to the podium.

Carlo took a sip of water. " Citizens of the One World Community". His voice hesitated. " I come to give you a proclamation".

Rory listened intently.

" The time has now expired to receive the mark of loyalty to me". Carlo gave the crowd a stern stare. " Those without my loyalty mark will have to deal with my enforcement division".

Everyone clapped in agreement.

" Also all citizens are now required to worship my image three times a day".

Rory smiled.

" Or face punishment".

There was more clapping for Carlo.

" Thank you for your support".

Carlo quickly left the stage.

Rory stood up and clapped. He loved his leader more than anything else.

My name is Clarence Thomas.

My grandmother's name was Christine. We called her Aunt Tina. She was a slight woman, thin, five foot two and thin. She was easy going and soft spoken.

When my brother Myers and I went to live with my grandparents, we were shown a new room with matching twin beds. 

My grandfather Myers Anderson was five feet eleven and weighed 195 pounds. He had West African features including very dark skin and high cheek bones. My father described grandpa Anderson as a self taught preacher. 

My Uncle Charles had a boat, made boot leg liquor and moved houses. By the summer of 1955, Uncle Charles had a family business. He also owned several rental houses.

For second grade, I attended St Benedict the Moor Grammar School. The school was run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.

Carlo Simpato and some One World soldiers approached the steps of the Temple. A couple of the soldiers were dragging a huge pig by a rope. As Carlo neared the entrance, an old grey haired man stepped right in front of him.

The old man stuck a finger in Carlo's face. " You dare blaspheme God".

" Where is your God?". Carlo pushed the old man back. " Who are you anyway?".

The old man grinned. " People call me John".

" Well John". Carlo walked past the old man. " I have important things to do right now". Carlo walked past the Court of Women and the Court of Men. Then Carlo encountered some priests who refused to leave.

Carlo stared at the priests. " Will you bow down and worship me?".

" No" said the priests in unison. 

Carlo walked past them. " Then you shall die".

Carlo finally reached the Holy of Holies. He took a knife and slashed the veil in two all the way to the ground. Then Carlo took the same knife and slashed the pig's throat. The pig's blood was splattered all of the altar of the Holy of Holies.

Carlo walked over to an open balcony window. He stared down below to the masses including Rory who were scratching their sores.

" Pay homage to me". Carlo pointed toward a large tent. " Take my mark of loyalty".

Down below, Rory smiled as he scratched his sores.

You always want God to be on your side. Psalm 41 says by this I know that you delight in me. Tough things were happening to David. King Saul was trying to kill him. People were betraying him. Armies were attacking him. 

But David knew that God was by his side. He knew that God was always protecting him. David knew he had the grace of God. David knew he could triumph in God's name.

Why?. Because God loved David. God loves us more than anything else.

Rory stood on the east side of the Temple Mount. A large golden statue of Carlo Simpato had just been unveiled. As he scratched the two sores on his body, Rory noticed a young woman now standing next to him. Rory also noticed that she was not scratching herself.

" Hello Rory".

Rory stared at the young woman. " Do I know you?".

" My name is Edith". She smiled. " I was in your mother's bible study group".

Rory looked perplexed. " I thought all of those ladies went under the blade".

" God had an assignment for me".

" And what is that assignment?".

The young woman frowned. " To warn you".

" Edith, I cannot believe in a God I cannot see". Rory looked up  and frowned. " A God who has caused me nothing but pain my entire life".

" Rory, God simply loves you". She grinned. " Give him a chance".

" Edith, you better leave before I turn you in".

Edith smiled. She quietly left.

Rory scratched his sores while he watched thousands of people getting into the loyalty application lines.

Captain Gallery watched from the bridge of the Guadalcanal as his first four planes landed. The pilots were elated. They had finally found a U-boat to sink. It was the U-544. Because it was a U-boat that fueled smaller boats, it was a sitting duck. The boat could not crash dive or do evasive maneuvers. Gallery's planes blew the boat to bits. Two boats being refueled by U-544 got away.

Gallery watched as his other four planes tried to land in the dark. The first barely landed. The other three planes had to be ditched in the ocean. It was a small price to pay for the sinking of a U-boat.

On November 7 1943, it was a miracle that the U-505 made it back to the submarine pen at Lorient. The U-505 was greeted by the Second U-boat Flotilla Commander. His name was Ernst Kals. Kals told the crew of the U-505 the truth. The reason they are the only boat in the submarine pen is because of massive U-boat losses.

Meyer and the crew of the U-505 considered themselves lucky to make it back alive.

Is your life right now because of bad decisions?. So how do we change things?. We need to make one good choice after another. Over a period of time, good choices will lead to blessings. 

God is a Redeemer, give him a chance. God loves you more than anything else.

They do not add value to our life. If you spend time with critical and unhappy people, you will end up that way.

God wants our friends to be givers and winners. God wants our friends to inspire and push us forward.

God wants us to walk with the right people. Why?. Because God loves us more than anything else.

With promotion comes a greater trust in God. Our faith will grow. Our spiritual development will occur. A challenge will be fuel for our faith. Why?. Because God loves us more than anything else.

Skipper Gallery guided the baby flattop Guadalcanal through the Panama Canal. Then Gallery guided the ship up the Eastern coast of the US. On December 3 1943, the Guadalcanal docks in Norfolk Virginia. 

While in Norfolk, Gallery had a meeting with Admiral Ernest King. Gallery receives his new orders. He is taking command of Task Group 22.12. Along with the Guadalcanal, four destroyer escorts would be joining the task group. The task group's mission is to seek out and destroy enemy submarines. 

Gallery knew a lot was riding on Task Group 22.12. Gallery knew his baby flattop was the first to be deployed in the Atlantic. Pentagon staff were skeptical.

On Jan 5 1944, the Guadalcanal, the USS Pillsbury and three destroyers headed toward Bermuda to refuel. Then the group left for the Azores. It was their new patrol sector.

U-505 page 16

It is October 24 1943, the crew of the U-505 were dumbfounded. Skipper Zschech was up in the conning tower. The boat was cruising at only a depth of 100 meters. The periscope was useless. Then Zschech and the crew heard the loud pinging of the ASDIC. 

Before Zschech could completely get back in the boat, the depth charges began. After the first two, the boat shakes and the lights go out. Then more depth charges. The boat almost rolls over. 

A scared Zschech was hanging onto the bulkhead. He knew there was only one thing to do. He takes out his Luger. He points it at his temple. He fires.

Second in command Paul Meyer and other crew members heard the gunshot. They run over and take the wounded Skipper to his cabin. Zschech dies from the gunshot. Later in the morning, the men of the U-505 bury their Skipper at sea. Being Second in Command, Paul Meyer became the new Skipper of the U-505.

Sometimes something as simple as kind words can go a long way. We can pray for signs and wonders. Encouragement can go a long way. Proverbs 12 says a word of encouragement does wonders. We can discount the power of a kind word. God says don't do that. 

People's lives can change because of a kind word. People might be in a stronghold. But a kind word could break them out of that. 

God says give kind words to people today. Why?. Because God loves us more than anything else.

How do we rest in God?. According to Hebrews 4, they shall not enter my rest. So how do we enter God's rest?. The first thing we need to do is to trust God. To trust God, we need to get our minds off of our problems. We need to think about something else. We need to put our mental energy into something other than our own problems. Walking in faith is a lifetime journey. We need to cast our cares on God. 

When we do rest in God, we will have peace, wisdom and the strength to face each day.

King David was treated unfairly by his father and brothers. He was treated unfairly by King Saul and his son Absalom. So how did King David keep a good attitude and not get bitter?. Psalm 35 says do not be far from me Lord. King David knew that God knew the troubles he was going through. God sees it all and he won't be silent. Good things are coming. King David knew that. We have to always stay faithful. God will always take care of us. He promises us that. Why?. Because he loves us very much.

As U-505 and Skipper Zschech are having trouble getting out of the Bay of Biscay because of sabotage issues, Captain Dan Gallery is having his own issues with the Guadalcanal. The ship is half the size of other aircraft carriers. It is slower and carried fewer planes. 

50 cheap aircraft carriers were built. Their nickname was ' escort carriers' or ' baby flattops'. The crew of the Guadalcanal were fresh out of Navy boot camp. The motto of the ship is ' Can Do'.

On October 15 1943, Captain Gallery takes the Guadalcanal on it's shakedown cruise. The ship runs into a storm as it sailed down the Columbia River. Luckily, it stays intact. Finally, it reaches San Diego. 

Then Gallery and the Guadalcanal receives it's orders. It is to go through the Panama Canal to duty in the Atlantic.

Trusting God: Job 13:15

In our walk with God, we will not understand everything God is doing in our lives. If we did understand everything, there would be no need to trust God. We ask God What about my future?. Will I have provision in my old age?. 

We need to trust God when we do not understand. Sometimes our questions are not answered. So we trust God and face tomorrow. In Job 13, Job faced many crises and losses. He did not understand what was happening to him. But Job had faith and trusted God. When we trust God, peace will come.

We will not get every answer we ask God. But we need to trust God always. 

God promises to always take care of us. Why?. Because he loves us more than anything else.

When we sin, we feel fear and shame. Sometimes we feel like Adam and Eve, we want to hide so God will not find us. We feel ashamed of our weaknesses and shame. We feel that God is waiting for us to fail. But that is far from the truth.

God is not coming to condemn us. God loves us. God wants to rescue us and then restore us. Psalm 34 says he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. We are God's children. God gives us freedom, joy, peace and victory. 

When we try to hide from God, he will find us. God wants to set us free.

Why?. Because God loves us more than anything else.

On Sept 6 2005, the Supreme Court justices gathered to say goodbye to one of their own. They gathered to say goodbye to William Rehnquist. He served on the court for 33 years. At one point, he had 105 law clerks . He was a stickler for promptness and efficiency.

In one of the Supreme Court's elegant conference rooms , the justices gathered. At 10:00 am, the group gathered on the front steps. Seven male justices and one female waited to bring the casket inside.

On the bottom step was Justice Stephen G Breyer. He was 67. He joined the court in 1994 by President Bill Clinton. The next justice was Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She was appointed in 1993 one year before Breyer. Next was Justice Clarence Thomas. At 57, he looked like an old man. Justice David Souter was not there but was coming to the funeral the next day. Justice Anthony Kennedy was absent also. Next was 69 year old Antonin Scalia. President Reagan appointed him in 1986. Next was Justice Sandra Day Oconnor. She was the first appointed female justice. Last on the steps was Justice John Paul Stevens. At 85, he was the oldest. Replacing Rehnquist as Chief Justice was John Roberts.

There are two words that are very powerful. Those words are ' I Am'. Those two words can be used in a positive or a negative way. 

You could say I am unlucky. I am overweight. Instead when you get up, say I am in a positive way. I am blessed. I am strong. I am talented. I am focused.

When you use I am in a positive way, God notices that. Health and favor will come your way.

Why?. Because God loves you more than anything else.

Lamar Quin was staring at the back yard sprinkler. Mitch quietly walked up. He sat down next to his new friend.

Mitch frowned. " I'm sorry about hearing about Kozinski and Hodge".

Lamar looked at Mitch. " Marty Kozinski was a friend of mine from Chicago".

" I did not meet Joe Hodge when I was here".

" Marty was next in line to become a partner".

" What happened?".

" There was an explosion on the boat they were scuba diving from".

" Sorry Lamar".

" Thanks Mitch". Lamar grinned. " When did you and Abby arrive?".

" This morning".

" The firm is happy you are here Mitch".

Oliver Lambert entered the cluttered office.

" Morning Ollie", The head of security held up a file. " I take it you want to talk about McDeere".

" Yes".

" He was impressed by the firm". He glanced at the file. " He'll probably sign on".

" What about the wife?".

" Had a ball". He smiled. " Quin's wife helped her look at some houses".

" Does he have any suspicions?".

" Not really". He frowned. " I think he'll sign".

" Does he realize how permanent this place is?".

" I think so". DeVasler put the McDeere folder on his cluttered desk. " He's broke and needs the money".

Mitch sat down at a table in the dining room of the firm. The dining room was on the fifth floor overlooking Riverside Dr. The eight foot windows gave a great view of the river. At the table was Mitch, Lamar Quin, Oliver Lambert and Royce McKnight.

" You will love the food here Mitch". Oliver Lambert smiled. " Jesse Frances does a great job of cooking for us".

Prime rib, fried okra and boiled squash was served to them. 

Mitch looked around the room. " All of these people are partners".

" Yes they are Mitch". Lamar began to butter a roll. " This is one of the perks of being a partner here".

After they were done eating, Oliver stood up. He tapped his glass. " Gentlemen, may I have your attention".

All eyes turned. 

" Our special guest today is Mitch McDeere".

Everyone in the room clapped.

" He will be graduating with honors from Harvard".

More clapping followed.

" Mitch will be a guest at a dinner at our home tomorrow".

They walked into a law library on the second floor. " The first four floors have their own law libraries". He smiled. " We are one of the largest law libraries in the country".

They walked around the second floor.

Lamar pointed at some of the corner offices. " These offices are for the senior partners".

They walked into one of the corner offices. 

Mitch walked up to one of the office windows. He looked out. " Whose office is this?".

" Victor Milligan". Lamar smiled. " He's head of Tax".

They left the office and walked down the hallway. 

Lamar pointed toward some offices. " These are the partner's offices Mitch". He grinned. " One of these offices will be yours Mitch".

" Thank you".

" Don't try to remember names Mitch". Lamar frowned. " I will introduce you to everyone eventually".

Psalms: Psalm 34:10

When we make excuses to be less than our best, we feel like we don't have enough. But we think to ourselves if only I had more money or a larger house. Psalm 34 says those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. God has given us all that we need. This includes talent, friends and resources.

God says trust me I will give you whatever you need. We won't lack anything. We need to say to ourselves God loves me I have everything I need today.

Why? Because God loves us more than anything else.

My name is Clarence Thomas. I met my father when I was 9 years old. His name was M.C Thomas. My mother divorced him in 1950. He moved to Philadelphia. I was born in Pinpoint Georgia. While I was growing up, I only saw my father twice. The fatherly influence in my life was my grandfather. To me, he was the hero in my life.

I was descended from West African slaves. Pinpoint Georgia was 10 miles southeast of Savannah. Only 100 people lived in Pinpoint. A lot of them were related to me. I was born in a shanty with no bathrooms or electricity. Pinpoint was right on the water. For work, men raked oysters and caught crabs and fish. 

In fall 1954, I entered grammar school. In Savannah, I went to Florance Street School for first grade. To me, school lessons were slow moving and repetitive. At home, I was always cold and hungry. Being hungry and cold is what I remember from the winter of 1955.

That following summer, my brother Myers and I were sent to live at my grandparents house.

As U-505 is trying to return to Lorient, the Commander in Chief of RAF Bomber Command gives a command. He wants the French seaport of Lorient France destroyed. From Jan 14 1943 to the 16th, British and American bombers devestate the town. Luckily, the submarine pens stayed intact. The crew of the U-505 were shocked by the massive bombing.

The U-505 made it back. The boat was put into drydock for extensive repairs and modifications. The crew was given 3 weeks leave.

On July 3 1943, U-505 quietly leaves it's submarine pen. Skipper Zschech is unsettled. His closest comrade on board Thilo Bode was promoted to Skipper of the U-858. He was replaced by 26 year old Paul Meyer.

U-505's problems started after only one hour. The diesel engines began to sputter. Then at midnight, the engines totally shut down. After dealing with that problem, Zschech wanted to do a test dive. At 40 meters, a leak started in the starboard propeller shaft. When the boat reaches it's patrol destination, it is attacked by 3 British destroyers. 6 depth charges shake and rattle the boat. Then Zschech notices diesel fuel leaking from the boat. That scares Zschech. Too many problems have been happening on this patrol. Zschech is beginning to think of sabotage.

Abishag had a strange job. Her job was to keep King David warm. King David was old and infirm. According to I Kings 1, they searched and found Abishag. She was brought to King David. 

We have responsibilities at home, at the office. And at church. 

Just like Abishag, God wants us to do to the best of our ability. God will take care of the rest.

Before Bruce Springsteen started a 1978 tour, he released an album. Called ' Darkness on the Edge of Town'. The new album was resolute and bitterest. The 1978 shows became a part of rock and roll legend. Then Springsteen released another album. It was called ' the River'. It spawned a Top Ten single. ' Hungry Heart' led to a successful late 1980 early 1981 tour. Reviews of the tour were ecstatic. Springsteen was being compared to the comeback of Elvis Presley. Springsteen was selling out 10,000 to 20,000 seat Sports Arenas. He could perform from three albums. But Springsteen was still restless. He wanted to tackle Europe next. 

On April 5 1981, Bruce Springsteen and his band landed at Frankfurt West Germany. From the beginning, the tour was already way off schedule. Then Springsteen's manager Jon Landau found out Bruce was sick and needed rest. All of the U.K. dates were postponed. To Springsteen, these shows were critical. There had been a lot of recent anti American sentiment.

Sometimes an inner alarm is warning you not to do something. You think to yourself it is ok to do it. In Psalm 32, it says I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. God says listen to the still small voice. 

God can see problems we cannot see. If God says don't do it, it is because he is protecting you. To listen for God's voice, it's better to have it quiet. 

God says be quiet and listen for my quiet voice. I will guide your life. I promise.

God loves you more than anything else.

Architect Cass Gilbert stood in front of his design. He was given the job of designing a new home for the Supreme Court. Gilbert's vision was for the building to be the greatest tribunal in the world. For the Supreme Court, Gilbert wanted a structure similiar to the Capitol, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.

But how?. In 1928, Congress gave the Court a cramped piece of land. It was between the Capitol and the Library of Congress. Gilbert came up with the solution, The solution was steps. Gilbert envisioned a portico with a massive stairway. 44 steps leading up to 8 massive columns. Gilbert wanted 44 steps to be a march to justice.

The Supreme Court has been confronting political issues for more than 200 years. It has a mixed record of success and failure. John Marshall had a long tenure as Chief Justice. It was not until the tenure of Chief Justice Earl Warren that the Court asserted itself as independent and aggresive.

King David wanted to see the goodness of God. Are we missing out on increase because we're not expecting it. We are not releasing our faith. Psalm 31 says how great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. 

God has blessings with our name on them. God has everything stored up for us. This includes promotion, healing and vindication. God has destined them to be ours. 

We need to say to God I believe that you have surprises and blessings for me. I believe I'll see your goodness. 

God loves us more than anything else.

According to II Chronicles 29, Hezekiah became king at 25. He reigned in Jerusalem for 29 years. Hezekiah's mother was Abijah. Abijah was proud of her son king of Judah. Abijah's husband was Ahaz. Ahaz worshiped pagan gods and closed Jerusalem's temple. 

So who had a godly influence on Hezekiah?. It was his mother Abijah. It only takes one Christian parent to help a child. That was Abijah.

God loves us more than anything else.

Things will come against us in life. Medical issues, business downturns and children getting into trouble. The question is do we have roots deep enough to have an anchor. Proverbs 12 says life rooted in God stands firm. 

Some people only have surface roots. They get offended and upset. God wants us to have deep roots. We know that God is in control. Troubling winds will blow our way. With deep roots in God, we will stay standing.
Why?. Because God loves us more than anything else.

Abihail means ' father is strength'. Abihail was the daughter of Jesse's first son ' Eliab'. Abihail came from an impressive lineage. Her Uncle David and his son Solomon both became kings of Israel. Abihail married one of David's sons. Abihail's daughter Mahalath married Rehoboam. He was a king. Rehoboam had 18 wives and 60 concubines. Abihail knew her daughter's marriage to Rehoboam was not ideal.

Troubles will come our way. God the Father will protect us and help us through every storm.

Glory Days page 1

Backstage, a singer has some last words with some aides. He gives his wife a kiss. It is the same routine. He has performed 162 shows in the last 18 months. Walking down a hallway, his bandmates are waiting for him. 

Together, they walk out onto a three story stage. Tonight, it is the Los Angeles Coliseum. The venue is ancient looking and hallowed. There is a giant arch above the stage. The band members are led by flashlights to their places. The house lights go black. People's murmurs raise in volume and pitch. Then it becomes a scream.

Behind the stage is a 50 foot flag. The singer signals that he is ready. Then white hot light hits the singer's face. Then the singer screams the first lines of ' Born in the USA'.

Some people say that the singer is the first white American to be compared to Elvis Presley.

The singer's name. Bruce Springsteen.

According to I Samuel 25, Abigail was married to Nabal. They were a spiritually incompatible couple. Abigail had faith. Nabal had no time for God. To the relationship, Abigail brought gifts and graces. 

One time, Nabal offended King David. Somebody reported it to Abigail. She prepared food for David's men and approached King David to make peace. Her intervention, humble words and attitude prevented bloodshed. After finding out what his wife did, Nabal had a fit and died.

Abigail eventually became King David's wife. Abigail had faith in God. Do we?.

God has written every day of our life in a book. Some things in life we do not understand. Some things are not fair. Some things are painful. Sometimes we think that nothing will change. 

To God, we are a chapter not a whole book. God wants us to turn the page. God wants us to move forward. With another chapter, we have God's favor. Psalm 30 says joy comes in the morning. God will do more than we could imagine. One day we will say, joy came in the morning.

Why?. Because God loves us more than anything else.

" Our pleasure Mitch". Lamar pointed around the foyer. " I personally will be giving you the guided tour".

They walked over to the receptionist's desk. " Mitch, this is our receptionist Sylvia".

" Morning, Mr McDeere".

" Please call me Mitch".

On the second floor, Oliver Lambert and about 20 of the firm's associates were sitting around a huge conference table. 

" Gentlemen, this is Mitchell McDeere".

" Please call me Mitch".

Lamar smiled. " Ready for the official tour Mitch".

" Yes".
